Newest Dublin Attractions

“The Wheel” is only one of nine in the world, weighs 350 tons and is 190 feet high.  It holds 336 people and one rotation takes 13 minutes. It has 42 capsules, including a VIP one.  Cost to ride $11.50.

A new museum has opened in General Post Office on O’Connell Street, Dublin. The G.P.O. was the epicenter of the 1916 Rising, and the museum gives an insight into the role played by those on duty at time of Rising.  The museum uses interactive technology and a “Pepper’s Ghost” drama of the G.P.O. on Easter Monday, 1916 (uses a plate glass and special lighting to make things seem to morph into one another).  Adminision $3.50.
