Christine Kinealy, author  of “This Great Calamity: The Irish Famine, 1845-52 and 14 other books on the Great Hunger has been appointed  Professor of Irish Studies at  Quinnipiac University in Connecticut and will also be director of the Great Hunger Institute at the university.
