Seamus Heaney, a native of Co Derry, died in Dublin August 30 at the age of 74.  He was the winner of the Nobel Prize in literature in 1995.  Mr. Heaney has been called the greatest poet since Yeats and wrote essays and plays along with numerous works of poetry.  He often evoked the beauty and blood that define the Irish condition as he explored the uncertainties and strife that affected his homeland.
