Conway Mill Trust

A painting called ‘The Ragpickers’ has been added to the collection at Quinnipac University’s Great Hunger Museum.  It is a 1900 painting by Henry Allen.  Ragpickers were common in the late 19^th Century, and they made their living by rummaging for scraps of clothing or paper and then selling them.
