The earliest record of Thanksgiving is Feb 22, 1631 when the Pilgrims were running perilously low on provisions. Ireland was the only country who came to the relief of the famished colonists both at this time and in 1676 when again Ireland came to the rescue of the Pilgrims in Nov. This known as “The Irish Donation.”
