Origin of the Word Boycott

Sept 19, 1880-Charles Stewart Parnell delivers his famous speech in Ennis, Co. Clare, introducing the term for non-violent intimidation which then enters the English language – ‘boycott’ after a land agent named Boycott who mistreated the tenants.
