The Irish Arts Council is creating a ‘Laureate for Irish Fiction’ to promote Irish literature to encourage the public to engage with high quality Irish fiction.  Tuition will be given to a writer of national and international distinction who will receive 150,000 Euros over three years to focus on his or her work, participation in public events and teach creative writing at University College, Dublin or New York University which are co-sponsoring the initiative.
