Feb.20, 1942, Edward ‘Butch’ O’Hare for whom O’Hare airport in Chicago is named was the first Navy ace to be awarded the Medal of Honor.  He was credited with downing five Japanese bombers in one day. His father was an attorney for the Capone family and testified against Al Capone.  He was later murdered.
