“Devil’s Bit” is a mountain in Co Tipperary. According to legend, it got its name because the devil took a bite out of it. There is a small gap in the mountain between one outcrop of rock and another small plateau which is the spot where the devil bit it. He broke his teeth taking the bite and the Rock of Cashel was formed when the piece fell from his mouth.
