Some country cures: cuts and scratches — place a cobweb on the injury to stop the bleeding; nocturnal urination — a child will always turn on his back to pass water. To prevent his turning, cut a strip of calico, knot it four times and secure it around the child’s waist with knots to the back. Remove after one week. For whooping cough, use ferret’s milk. Take it morning fresh and give the child three teaspoons each morning for nine mornings.
