To commemorate the 50th anniversary of President Kennedy’s visit to Ireland, a flame is being carried from the Eternal Flame at his gravesite in Arlington, VA to New Ross, Co Wexford, the home of his ancestors. Two stamps are being issued to commemorate JFK’s visit. The two stamps are being issued by An Post in the Republic of Ireland. . One will have a picture of him being served tea by his cousin’s daughter; the other will be of the president and the then Taoiseach Sean Lemass laying a wreath at Arbour Hill cemetery, the burial place of many Irish heroes.
