The Irish Minister for Foreign Affairs Michael Martin has announced plans for a “Certificate of Irish Heritage” for those whose ancestry goes further back than grandparents and are not eligible for citizenship.  This certificate would declare their ancestry and enable them to take advantage of certain discounts.
