Every autumn 90% of the world’s population of Brent geese fly to Strangford, Lough. This is a 2,900 mile journey originating in Canada, Iceland and then finally Ireland. This year they have arrived two weeks early and will be joined by more by mid-Oct. They have reached migration conditions early because of favorable conditions in the Arctic.
