Skellig Michael, Co Kerry was named an historic site in 1996 by UNESCO, the World Heritage Site.  Star Wars recently filmed there but it is likely it will not be used for the next two Star Wars.  While it was being filmed, there was some damage to the steps leading to the summit.  Instead, a replica will be made in a studio.

Priest’s Leap, Co Cork

“Priest’s Leap” in Co Cork derives its name from an episode in which a priest, pursued by British soldiers, escaped by having his horse make a miraculous leap from a mountain cliff in Cummeenshrule.  A rock, where the pursuit began, miraculously melted under the approaching hounds and pawmarks can still be seen.
