There is a new festival in Ireland called “Pilgrim’s Path Day.”  It is a dense network of walking paths.  This heritage hermit themed event is organized by local communities adjacent to each penitential route and is aimed at raising awareness of Ireland’s rich inheritance of pilgrim paths. A 110-year old time capsule was found during renovation at Healy Mac’s Breoffy House Resort in Sligo.  It was left there by Dominick Sydney Browne in 1905.  Inside the lead box were letters detailing family history and numerous newspapers of the time.

An Irish priest, serving in England is taking a bus through towns, villages, housing estates and homeless shelters offering anyone who wishes to come on board for confession or a blessing. Fr. Frankie Malgrew had the bus blessed by the Pope, and he may take it to Ireland. His motto is from St Patrick: “Mercy is for everyone.”

Killarney was named number 10 in Trevago Travel Magazine as the best places to visit.  Galway came in 57th out of the list of top 100 places.   Analysis was made by surveys left by visitors in hotels.

The producers of “Star Wars, Episode 8, have released a teaser featuring Skellig Michael.

A replica of the “Titanic” is being built in China by Australian billionaire Olive Palmer and in spite of objections that it is disrespectful of those who died, there is a demand for tickets.  It will set sail in 2018 but will not follow the original route.
