According to the Irish Times, researchers from University of Limerick have solved the mystery of why the bubbles in Guinness sink down. Using computational fluid dynamics and a visit to the local pub, they found that the secret is in the shape of the glass. The bubbles went down on the lower face and up on the higher face.
